Senetas Executive Chairman Francis Galbally met with Senator Francesco Giacobbe, an Italian-Australian parliamentarian from the Democratic Party, and members of the Italian Senate on 16 September to discuss sovereign cybersecurity challenges and strategic defenses for critical digital infrastructure.
The delegation addressed Italy’s increasingly complex threat landscape, where public institutions and critical sectors face a growing convergence of sophisticated cyberattacks, hybrid influence operations, and targeted attempts to disrupt democratic processes.
“Protecting democratic institutions and national data assets requires a fundamental shift toward resilient, sovereign cyber capabilities,” said Francis Galbally, Executive Chairman of Senetas. “As threat vectors evolve from simple data breaches to coordinated political interference, robust, PQC-ready encryption frameworks are vital to maintaining institutional integrity and public trust.”
