Fortune Global 500 bank protects sensitive data across a complex post-merger network

The challenge for Senetas
Our client, a Fortune Global 500 bank, needed a resilient solution to securely replicate backup data across multiple sites following a merger and acquisition.
The integration presented two intertwined challenges:
- Encrypting sensitive customer and organisational data-in-motion as it moved between locations. This was a critical business objective in its own right, and one that couldn’t come at the cost of network performance during a live integration.
- Meeting the highest levels of independent security certification to satisfy regulatory standards governing financial services data across multiple jurisdictions.
We implemented a Senetas High Speed Encryptor (HSE) solution to secure data-in-motion across the bank's post-merger network end-to-end.
A Senetas CN4020 network encryptor was used to deliver full line-rate, Layer 2 Ethernet encryption, shielding data as it moved across all network environments involved in the integration. The CN4020 met the client’s requirements with a flexible, high-performance and cost-effective solution, keeping pace with live backup replication without disrupting the integration timeline.
The solution is independently validated by leading security authorities and meets Common Criteria and FIPS requirements, giving the bank and its regulators the level of assurance expected of a Fortune Global 500 institution.
