Course description

IBM Tivoli Monitoring (ITM) manages the IT infrastructure including operating systems, databases and servers across distributed and host environments through a single customizable workspace portal.
In this course, you will earn the ITM architecture, how to navigate the Tivoli Enterprise Portal, dispatch alerts, access situation events, and investigate TEC and Omnibus events.

Objectives

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:

• Describe the IBM Tivoli Monitoring (ITM) architecture.
• Use and navigate the Tivoli Enterprise Portal (TEP) to monitor and manage an enterprise monitoring solution built with IBM Tivoli Monitoring 6.2.
• Access situation events, situation event details, and status changes.
• Manage events effectively using facilities provided with IBM Tivoli Monitoring.
• Within Tivoli Enterprise Portal, manage events from other event systems using the Common Event Console view and the Tivoli Enterprise Console view
