Hybrid Quantum Encryption

Senetas and Swiss based IdQuantique have partnered in a unique collaboration to produce the world’s first commercial encryption system using Quantum Key Distribution (QKD).

Quantum Key Distribution is a new technology used to securely distribute electronic keys between parties. Unlike traditional key distribution technologies such as Public-key cryptography, where security is based on difficult mathematical problems, the security of QKD comes from the unique physical properties of quantum mechanics.

This approach can provide provably secure keys regardless of future advances in technology. Typically these ultra-secure keys are used with traditional encryption algorithms to provide high-speed encrypted communications.

Cerberis is the world’s first commercial hybrid classical-quantum encryption system and combines the sheer speed of Senetas high speed network encryption platform CypherNet with IdQuantique’s QKD technology to provide a radically new approach to network security.

The award winning Cerberis solutions is ideal for point-point dark fibre connections and is both cost-effective and scaleable as it allows additional encryption devices to be added to a QKD server at any time without network interruption.
