Senetas CS family

The Senetas CS encryption family is a flexible new encryption platform that provides a purpose built data security solution for both point-point and fully meshed layer 2 & layer 3 Ethernet networks.

The CS platform provides extreme versatility in performance, security and cost-effectiveness and is capable of securing both layer 2 (Ethernet) and layer 3 (IP) networks at line rates up to several hundred Megabits per second (model shown is up to 10Mbps only).

The platform is crypto-agile and supports user loaded algorithms via a simple software toolkit.

Senetas CS10 is a cost-effective small desktop form factor encryptor for lower speed (< 10Mbps) branch or remote office connectivity.  Senetas CS100 is a 19”rack mounted appliance for point to point or multipoint operations at speeds of up to 100 Mbps, and is designed for central office connections.

Layer 2 encryption

The Senetas CS family is fully compatible with the Senetas premium CN Ethernet encryption platform and is ideally suited for distributed network environments where high speed central office or data centre locations are connected to multiple remote or branch office sites.

Senetas CS10 and CS100 are both managed by the same network management and certification tool CypherManager.

Layer 3 encryption

In its layer 3 mode of encryption, the CS family encrypts the contents of IP packets that are carried inside Ethernet frames.

Senetas CS supports the industry standard IPSec and offers a switchable layer 2 / layer 3 capability in one solution.

CS Ethernet offers the following benefits:

  • Common Criteria EAL4+ certified security
  • Switchable layer 2 and layer 3 encryption
  • Operates in both Point-Point and Meshed topologies
  • Fully compatible with CN Ethernet encryptor (layer 2 mode)
  • AES 256 bit encryption
  • Crypto-agile support for customised algorithms
  • Fully automatic key management
  • Secure remote inband & out of band management with CypherManager
